Views of the old post office on Leeds city square
The founder and editor is Darren Cronian, and is Leeds born and bred. He launched the locally written guide because he wanted to prove that there is more to England than cities like London and Manchester. His first experience online was as consumer blogger on the popular Travel Rants blog.
He’s been on TV and radio, and quoted in newspapers all over the world.
Locally written guides
The guides are written by people who live in Leeds and are passionate about the city. Our aim is to be the most comprehensive and up-to-date guide. No one wants to read a guide written by someone who has just spent a few hours in the city, and does not know the hidden gems plus the places to avoid.

Leeds is a vibrant city
Every year Leeds attracts over 1.5 million people who stay overnight, plus a further 10 million who visit on day trips. Visitors bring in nearly £735 million into the local economy each year and we want to help attract more visitors to the city. As locals we can see that the city can be improved but we are excited about its future.
Different than other Leeds travel guides
• Local understanding of the city
• We keep all of our content up-to-date
• Quality content. We only choose the best local writers
• Not just a guide but also a community
Working with local businesses
We want to work with local businesses; you can add your local event and we will promote it on our Leeds guide. The website has a number of advertising opportunities available and we are currently looking to partner with local businesses who want to work with us.
