About My Life in Leeds

The editor of My Life in Leeds is Darren Cronian, the man behind the popular Travel Rants blog; a site featured in national newspapers, interviewed on the radio and television. He’s Leeds born and bred and became frustrated at the lack of up-to-date advice and information for locals and tourists visiting the city.

The guides are written by people who live in Leeds and are passionate about the city. Our aim is to be the most comprehensive and up-to-date independent travel guide for Leeds. Who wants to read a guide written by someone who is not local and does not know the hidden gems plus the places to avoid? We don’t.

Introduction to My Life in Leeds

Watch a short unedited introduction video by the editor.

Leeds is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city

Every year Leeds attracts over 1.5 million people who stay overnight, plus a further 10 million who visit on day trips. Visitors bring in nearly £735 million into the local economy each year and we want to help attract more visitors to the city. As a host city for the England FIFA World Cup 2018 bid, the future looks bright.

Different than other Leeds travel guides

• Local understanding of the city
• We keep all of our content up-to-date
• Quality content. We only choose the best local writers
• Not just a guide but also a community

Working with local businesses

We want to work with local businesses; you can add your local event and we will promote it on our Leeds event pages. The site has a number of advertising opportunities available and we are currently looking to partner with local businesses who want to work with us.
