This weekend I took my nephew to the Leeds waterfront festival taking place at Granary Wharf, Clarence Dock, and Brewery Wharf. What a fun day it was, that included live music, market stalls, food and drink. Click on the thumbnail to view the photo.

OK Comics is an independent shop based in the Thornton arcade. Building work is currently being carried out in the arcade and this is having a huge impact on its survival. We cannot see shops like this going bust; so, treat your child, partner, anyone, to a comic and help support a local business.

Folk rock band, March of Dimes are five friends who live in Leeds, and have been going for two years. Over the past year they have written and recorded an EP called ‘From Those Who Were There’ and will be playing as part of the Futuresound showcase gigs at the Cockpit on 23 July.

Thursday, 15 July, join a guided walk that takes in the new urban meadows, an ancient footpath showcasing visual delights past Temple Works, under Holbeck Viaduct, to the meadows along Bridge Rd and then onto Holbeck Moor. It’s free, starts at 6.30pm at the Round Foundry Media Centre, Foundry St.
