The Royal Armouries is one of my favourite museums in the city and on the 27 & 28 March the museum will be bringing history back to life with tales of the Napoleonic wars. You’ll be able to watch live combat performances, take part in the crafts activities and learn about life back then.

I am trying to be healthier now that spring is around the corner, and on My Life in Leeds, we have written a few guides to the great walks and places to go outdoors in Leeds. If you know of any other walks or trails that we haven’t covered then please do mention them in the comments.

Easter is not far away and I know many parents struggle to keep their kids occupied during the school holidays, so for the budding Rooney’s and Lampard’s (or Beckford’s if you are a Leeds supporter like me) you might want to book them into the International Soccer School that takes place at Leeds Met Carnegie during the Easter school holidays, on 6 to 9 April.

One debate that is getting the locals talking is the future of Clarence Dock after news that local shops and restaurants are struggling due to a decrease in the number of people visiting the area. Speaking to friends and family the biggest issue is the lack of affordable parking.
The buildings around the dock look dour, gray and uninspiring. I would like to have seen a building like broadcasting tower near the Leeds metropolitan university to attract peoples attention. I really do hope things pick up.
