HRH Prince Edward meets champion footballers at the club
This is the first in a series of posts highlighting community groups and charities in Leeds. I was impressed to read that the Hunslet Club on Hillidge Road has been opening its doors to young people in South Leeds for almost seventy years and brings together over 500 people per week by offering a programme of activities including football, dance, gymnastics, boxing & musical theatre.
Fitness suite and classes for adults
The club is not just open to young people though. Adults can take part in various fitness classes like dance fit, or use the fitness suite which includes treadmills, rowing, cycling and weight machines, membership is only £20 per month or £3.50 per session.

Leeds needs more activities for young people
The problem nowadays is that there are not enough activities for young people, local spaces that I used when growing up to play football and sports are now housing estates. The city does not provide enough activities to engage with young people, so I am blown away with what Hunslet club do for the local community, especially as it is run by locals and has being established for so long.
Support this great local club
It is these types of groups that My Life in Leeds wants to support, so visit the Hunslet club website, follow them on Twitter and join their Facebook page and please do get involved if you live in the local area.
