In recent weeks we have published guides highlighting our writer’s favourite restaurants, including the likes of Tampopo and Salsa Mexicana. The aim is to get a balance between chain and independent restaurants. We would like to know in the comments, which restaurants you’d like to see on our guides.

Dinner at the Engine House Cafe

Dinner at the Engine House Cafe

Last week I went to the Engine House Cafe, just off Water Lane at Foundry Square within Holbeck Urban Village. I chose a starter of king scallops, chorizo, sauté potatoes with garlic & herbs, followed by the Engine House burger. Good value for money, great food, and friendly staff.

Chilling out on Easter Sunday at the Adelphi

I had the urge for a roast dinner so off to the Adelphi we went; a great pub, on the edge of the city centre, with a good selection of beers and drinks. We ordered our pints of Leeds pale ale, sat down to a chilled out atmosphere, which was perfect for a Sunday, and this despite the madness of the music fest upstairs.

Food ordered, roast beef, with veg, mash, Yorkshire pudding. The service was fantastic, and portions good, worth the £8.50 and I would return again. I loved the relaxed atmosphere, people reading newspapers, playing board games. Recommended for a chill-out Sunday after a hectic night out.
