The death of Gary Speed shocked football supporters across the country so it was no surprise that thousands of Leeds United fans, like me, gathered around the Billy Bremner statue this morning to pay tribute. The 27,000 fans chanted out Gary’s name for 11 minutes on the 11th minute at Elland Road.

This weekend I attended the Leeds Loves Food Festival. Previous years haven’t been great, but this year, the introduction of the food stalls and showcasing independent food producers really made it one of the best foodie events I’ve been to. I recorded a few snippets of video on my iPhone.

Breaking news: a bobble hat has been stolen from a junction box next to Jamie’s Italian in Leeds city centre. Two suspects were seen bobbling away from the scene by CCTV. Artists have transformed ten dull, grey, unobtrusive traffic controller boxes in Leeds, in a bid to show that public art can take on the most functional spaces for the delight of passers-by.
