Love beer and live in Leeds? Well, you will be glad to know that the Beer Bloggers conference is coming to Leeds on 18-20 May 2012 at the Met hotel. According to the organisers, Leeds was chosen because it is well known for its beer culture, and we do have some great real ale pubs here.

The 2013 Rugby League World Cup will be staged in four countries and Headingley will host a group match and a quarter final match. It is surprising that Elland Road will not be used as a venue, considering the attendance is considerably higher than Headingley. Good news for the city.

Yesterday, protesters from Occupy Leeds started to set up their camp next to the Christmas tree on Leeds city square. The question is for how long? I went down there today to ask them what they hoped to achieve, because I am genuinely interested, but no one was available to speak to me. I was asked to come back tomorrow, so I will, and keep this post updated.
Here are some photos I’ve taken. (not great quality – taken on iPhone. Click to view in full)
