The Hunslet Club in South Leeds provides a wide ranging evening & weekend programme of youth based activities for over 1,500 young people per week to help them reach their full potential. The club also delivers many daytime courses leading to accredited vocational qualifications for 14 to 16 year olds.

On 17 March, Castle Galleries located on Albion Place is to unveil a limited edition collection of six prints from the BAFTA nominated actor, comedian, musician and presenter, Billy Connolly. This is the first time Connolly’s art has ever been published or exhibited to the public, since he began sketching for pleasure.

Leeds Art Fund celebrates 100 years of ‘Art in Our Time’ with new exhibition at the Leeds Art Gallery from 23 March to 26 August 2012. The exhibition will include Lucien Pissarro’s painting, ‘Wells Farm Railway Bridge, Acton’ and England’s avant garde ‘Futurist’ R W Nevinson’s ‘Searchlights’ from 1914.

Traditional sword-dancing gets a modern twist in ‘The Traipse’, a new project that will see dancers hot foot it onto the streets of Leeds on Tuesday 27 March. A troupe of seven sword-dancers, storytellers and musicians, ‘The Traipse’ is one of over 100 events taking place as part of the Cultural Olympiad.
