Twenty-six contemporary British artists will come together in ‘Glamourie’ a new exhibition at Project Space Leeds until 31 March 2012. Entrance is free. The exhibition will showcase some of the most interesting artists currently practicing in the United Kingdom.

This is the second in a series of four interviews with people who inspired me at some point in 2011. We need a hyperlocal news blog that is going to keep the likes of the Yorkshire Evening Post and BBC Leeds on their toes, so support Beyond Guardian Leeds in 2012.

Please introduce yourself, and tell our readers about Beyond Guardian Leeds.

I’m Mike Wallis, an IT techie, cook and photographer who accidentally founded Beyond Guardian Leeds (BGL) in May. BGL is a news aggregation service with a healthy dollop of editorialising; the three main writers (myself, Elly Snare and Mark O’Brien) sift through as many of the local news websites and blogs (including My Life in Leeds) as we can to find small, niche news stories and events that we think deserve to get a wider audience.
