Leeds has some fantastic restaurants, with cuisine from around the world. Once or twice a month I like to dine out, have a nice meal and sample new beers or wines. Today, I wanted to highlight my favourite restaurants so the next time you’re looking to dine out in Leeds you have a few recommendations.
Zizzi
Zizzi is an Italian restaurant located next to the Corn Exchange. Every time I have eaten here it has been busy, even in mid-week. They offer special offers, so make sure you check out the Zizzi website before booking a table. The restaurant is rustic and open-plan, and you can see the chefs cooking your food.
La Tasca
I love Spanish food, and at La Tasca the all-you-can-eat offer for £10 is good value for money and it’s fun to try out different tapas dishes. The restaurant is located on Greek Street, next door to Henry’s bar and over the road from All Bar One. It has a nice atmosphere, but can get busy, so book ahead at peak times.
Spice Quarter
What I love about Spice Quarter is that there are a number of cuisines for you to choose from: Chinese, Indian, or Italian. You grab a plate and tell the chef what you want to eat, and they make it there and then. The restaurant feels a little claustrophobic, but the food is delicious.
The Waterfront
A great restaurant, the Waterfront is part of Brewery wharf, offering fantastic views with delicious, mouth-watering food. Recommended is the rib-eye steak or lasagne. Keep a lookout for special offers on the restaurant’s website, which currently includes 2 for 1 pizzas or a two-course Sunday roast for only £9.95.
Cafe Rouge
Cafe Rouge offers French cuisine at its best in a continental setting within The Light. The Cafe Rouge menu features speciality regional dishes, including Confit de Canard from Dordogne or Légumes Breton from Brittany, washed down with a bottle of Leffe Blonde.
