Granary Cafe and Farm Shop
Found in Cookridge, the Granary Cafe and Farm Shop are based at Crag House Farm. To get to there you follow a winding road through the farm itself leading into the car park. Take your time to get there as the views along the way are fantastic. The Granary Cafe and Farm Shop are found in a beautifully restored 17th century barn. It’s a stunning building, with enormous exposed beams and bright windows lighting up the large space.
High quality food at the Farm shop
The farm shop has a lovely selection of tasteful and carefully chosen gifts, but the highlight for me is the locally sourced food on offer. There’s a butchers within the shop selling lamb and beef from the farm itself as well as free range chicken and pork from a carefully selected farm near Wetherby. The prices are surprisingly reasonable for this fantastic produce. I was also impressed to see Thistlemist Farm soups and Yorkshire Chorizo on offer. High quality, local food is really at the heart of this shop.
The cafe is beautiful and incredible family friendly. There’s a children’s area with toys, colouring activities and even a DVD player on standby. The staff are genuinely friendly, providing top-notch customer service, and the menu is fantastic covering breakfast, lunch or even afternoon tea. The cafe is open into the evening as well when it provides Twilight Dining. Again, all food is sourced locally and is of a high quality.
Granary Cafe & Farm shop supports Caring for Life charity
I wish that you could see more of the farm when you visit. I think some pathways will be opening up for walks once the onsite reconstruction is complete later this year. Even without this though, it’s definitely somewhere that you should visit. Caring for Life is a Christian charity that provides housing support and daytime activities for vulnerable people. The Granary Cafe and Farm Shop supports this work.
